Bagel and Cream Cheese with Roast Beef

This is a light and satisfying meal - full of wonderful flavor.
Enjoy!

Ingredients:
Onion Bagel
(I used a half of the bagel to make it a satisfying snack; I would recommend using a bagel that goes well with Roast Beef - it can be any kind you like).
Cream Cheese
1 - 2 Thinly Sliced Pieces of Roast Beef
Salt
Pepper

Directions:

  • Slice the bagel in half - toast one or both halves of the bagel using the bagel setting on your toaster (if you have one) so that it is toasted well. I use the 3 setting on the toaster so that it doesn't get too brown.

  • Spread the cream cheese on the bagel to cover the surface - you can make it as thick or as thin as you like - spread it evenly and according to how hungry you are.
  • Use one or more pieces of thinly sliced Roast Beef - slice each piece into one inch strips. I chose to heat my Roast Beef slices because it brings out the taste of the meat - you can also use it cold - but keep in mind the taste factor. My bagel and cream cheese with Roast Beef tasted WOW with heated Roast Beef.

Here is how I would recommend heating the Roast Beef ...

If you're in a hurry ... you can heat the Roast Beef slightly in the microwave - place it in a small shallow bowl or plate - put about a tablespoon of water over the meat and then heat on Medium for about 30 seconds.

If you have time ... I would recommend steaming the Roast Beef using a bamboo steamer* or a stainless steel steamer*. You use the steamer over a little water in a pot - bringing it to a boil - the Roast Beef is evenly heated and the meat remains moist and soft.

*To learn about these steamers see our "Cooking Tools Page"
Arrange the Roast Beef on the the bagel sort of piled up like they do at the Sandwich Shop - curled and uneven. To finish sprinkle salt and pepper on top to taste and enjoy!
Yum!
